I inherited ahouse with land in Russia, together with my aunt, half-half. Now, she says since I am not aRussian citizen, I can't inherit and it stands in her way to inherit? Sounds fishy... HELP!
Thank you.

Perhaps not, I am not up on Russian laws, but many countries have rules that only citizens can own property. I know that in general land itself is not "owned" the house that sits on the property is owned, and the property is a "use" and the owner of the house has use of that land, since they build a house on it. This comes from the 1993 Land Reform.

I did some quick checking and it does appear that non citizens may not have rights to own property, but you need to clearify this though a attorney in russia

You need an attorney in that local area to represent you though this.
Land law is a very specialized law in Russia, so you will need someone that does just that.

She wants you to just sign over your half? She should buy you out, and if she can't afford to, then you can both pay a Russian lawyer to figure out how the property can be sold and you each get half of the proceeds.
