Every morning at 7am, a tapping noise starts on one particular wall in my bedroom. It is not the sounds of rodents. At one point,it will even, "flutter", then quiet, then go back to the intermittent tapping. It is the wall that separates my bedroom and bathroom. Thanks!

Jomax, could be a bat settling in for the day. Just a thought

Could be a bat... could also be a leaky toilet flapper and water is filling back into the toilet tank... maybe?

I'd recommend doing a DYE test on the toilet tank. Here, take a dark color food dye and drip 10-15 drops of the dye into the toilet tank only. Walk away for a couple hours and then come back and see if there is food coloring in the toilet BOWL. If there is dye in the bowl then the toilet flapper needs to be replaced... should resolve the noise issue, if you are lucky!

Post back and let us know your thoughts, OK?

Mark

Hey Parttime & MassPlumber2008, Thx. For your responses, I do appreciate them both. This morning was the very first morning that I heard nothing (& also the morning that my husband was home to listen to it, go figure? ) Unfortunately, the toilet bowl answer I don't think will fly since the bowl itself is on the complete other end of the bathroom and this is just a wall that houses the plumbing for two-double sinks. I am really baffled now, especially since nothing has happened today. Not even one single "tap/pop"? Oh well, at least if it stopped,I can sleep undisturbed now. :)

Jomax, if the problem returns your welcome to post back, sleep tight.

Even with the toilet on the other side you can get noises a distance away as noises travel along the pipes...

I'd still recommend trying the dye test... just to be sure!

Good luck!
