You can't plug things into an output. To connect something it goes like this...

From source (OUTPUT) ---> to display (INPUT).

So this means, you will want to run an HDMI cable from your PS3 to your TV. Note which HDMI connection you connect it to on the back (it will be labeled), and use the input button on the TV to switch to that.
