Depends upon where you are. Basically you have NO rights "as a child." You DO have rights as an adult OR emancipated minor.

Basically you need to be self supporting with your own place to live (not with others) and your education (usually high school) needs to be completed. You then apply to the Court to be emancipated and you can do what you want, when you want, and your parents have no responsibility or liability for you.

As a child you have very few rights since you are the responsibility of your parents. You gain rights only when you reach adulthood.

Can you tell us how old you are and what your parents won't let you do?

Well, OP has the right to obey his parents, clean his room, whatever else is involved.

The Rights of a Child

1. Provision: Children have the right to an adequate standard of living, health care, education and services, and to play and recreation. These include a balanced diet, a warm bed to sleep in, and access to schooling.

2. Protection: Children have the right to protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination. This includes the right to safe places for children to play, constructive child rearing behavior, and acknowledgment of the evolving capacities of children.

3. Participation: Children have the right to participate in communities and have programs and services for themselves. This includes children's involvement in libraries and community programs, youth voice activities, and involving children as decision-makers.

If you wish to be emancipated, you will basically have to have a job that will pay all the bills to live on your own. You will have to have enough money in the bank to move out and hire an attorney. Then you will have to have a reason to be separate, just not happy wlll not work
