Hi there. I usually ovulate for 2 days. Me and my husband are trying to get pregnant and were prescribed Fertomid. I took the pills as prescribed and we had intercourse as instructed by the doctor. I tested myself yesterday morning and the ovulaton test showed positive. I tested myself again this morning and the test was negative. Can I be pregnant or is there something else going on? I am also experiancing cramps. Doesovulation stops immediately after conception?

Ovulation is a process where an egg is released. It doesn't stop because of conception, in fact, conception can't happen if ovulation hasn't happened.
Some women do experience a brief sharp cramp when implantation occurs, though many do not, but it normally doesn't happen for days after conception.

Ovulation is the "drop" of an egg. It does not occur over two days but you may see an increase of Lutenizing Hormone for two days before the egg drops. This time frame is fertile, even if the egg has not yet been released. The egg remains viable for up approximately 24 hours after its released.
Continue using OPK's and ignore ovulation calendars. The OPK's are much more accurate. Ovulation calendars give you an approximate window but its nothing more than a guess.
Since your OPK is no longer positive it simply means that you most likely ovulated and your LH has dropped. That doesn't necessarily mean the egg was fertilized. You'll be able to test in about 2 weeks to know for sure. Good luck and call your doc with any questions :)

Unlike pregnancy tests, ovulation tests are best used later in the day. Be sure, as well, that the test line is as dark, or darker, than the control line. You will have fluctuations in your cycle, so a light line is possible at various times, this, however, does not indicate a positive result.
As was said, ovulation occurs just one day, although you usually will produce fertile mucus for a few before ovulation occurs. This is what allows the sperm to survive and be waiting for an egg to be released.
When do you believe you ovulated? When did you have sex? How long have you been using ovulation tests? It often takes a few cycles to get a better idea as to when you are likely to be close to ovulation. It is important also to continue testing over a course of several days.
