I'm in the process of laying laminate flooring in a bathroom and need to cut the laminate to fit around the base of the toilet and the basin pedestal. Is there any gadgets that you can buy to help create a template? Alternatively, has anyone got any advice on how this can best be achieved. I'm unable to slide the laminate under the toilet or the pedestal as these have been fixed to the floor already.

Two issues. #1 Most laminates are not designed for bathroom use. Water is a killer for most laminates. Be sure your manufacturer approves this installation. #2 You generally do not floor around the toilet. The toilet should be unmounted, put done you flooring, reset the toilet with an oversized beeswax ring. Some high end rings come with a neopreme collar that helps prevent leakage.
