Read this first: Expectations for the Homework Help board
Do not simply retype or paste a question from your book or study material

We won't do your homework questions for you.
You were given the assignment for you to learn.

If you come up with your own answer and post it for us to critique that is within reason.

If you have some SPECIFIC questions that you couldn't find or didn't understand, we may help with that.
But this is your assignment, so show us you have at least attempted to complete it on your own.

Thank you.

Do you really mean to divide one equation by another equation? :confused:

Did you mean two separate equations?

2y=-7

\frac{4x-7y}{3x}=10

In which case:

2y=-7

y=\frac{-7}{2}

y=-3.5

Then substitute in:

\frac{4x-7(-3.5)}{3x}=10

4x-7(-3.5)=3x(10)

4x+24.5=30x

26x=24.5

x=\frac{24.5}{26}

Oh, I get it now, it's:

4x - 7= \frac{10}{3x}

2y = -7

Take the second equation and solve for y.

Then, take the first equation, put the value of y that you got to get the value of x.
