I know a girl who had unprotected sex and in the following month she had her period 4 times. She is also starting to gain some weight, she is eating a lot more food, and she is having mood swings. She also just started using some weird new birth control pill after the 4 periods. Her doctor gave it to her because of them. She wants to know what the chances of her being pregnant are can you give me some advice that I can give to her?

She wouldn't have a normal "period" 4 times in a month, however she certainly could have irregular bleeding. Birth control pills are commonly prescribed to try and help regulate cycles. It is likely the changes she has experienced are due to the changes in hormones that may be the cause of the irregular bleeding.
Ideally her doctor would have done a pregnancy test at the office before prescribing the pill. She can do one herself at home, and it is very important that the directions are followed exactly to obtain accurate results.
