Had a 50 gallon water tank I replaced, I put in another 50 gallon electric tank. Used the dishwasher and one shower the downstairs water was still hot, but then trying to take a shower upstairs the water started hot but went cold, I am wits end. Is there any water to check for blockage or I forgot to say the pressure does not drop and the water is cold. Should have check this before removing the tank

I have a brand new 40 Gallon Tank in my house. After using the dishwasher downstairs, plus one shower upstairs, the water went cold within 5 min of the second shower.

But the faucets still had Hot water downstairs, I think this is normal.

---- A dishwasher uses a good bit of Hot Water. If the Dishwasher and shower were running at the same time (or around the same time) it is normal for the upstairs shower to not last long with hot water.

Hi Paul, there is couple of things you want to check:

First, make sure both, upper and lower elements are working properly.
Second, make sure your thermostat is set to 125 F on both elements.

Also, make sure cold water valve is open all the way...

Back to you... Milo
