I received a Warrant Letter from CA. It states that I owe $960 and that I have a must appear in front of a judge. There is no date or time for which I am suppposed to appear NOR any explanation to what it is for. All I have is a case number. I did get a DUI back in 1991 but I paid my fine for that. There is no way I could prove that now because I don't have any of the paperwork since it was so long ago. I do know I paid for it. This is something that happened over 20 years ago and I'm just now being contacted? Any suggestions about what to do?

Any suggestions about what to do?Hello m:
I think it's from a scumbag bottom fishing collection agent. Look at the bottom of the letter. If it says anything about the letter being an attempt to collect a debt, it IS exactly what I said it is.
I'd write 'em back and threaten so sue them if they damage your credit rating. Send your letter certified, and tell them to cease and desist their collection efforts.

Thank you for the response. It says it is from the Superior Court of California County of Riverside; Enhanced Collections Division. It lists a website to pay from but when I put in the information to see if it would give me an explanation for what the case number goes to it says it is Closed. I did a reverse address search for the address listed on the paystub and this is what it listed.
Riverside County Superior Court Of California
505 S Buena Vista Ave
Corona, CA 92882-1901
(951) 341-8876
HOWEVER this number is disconnected. I really don't see how this could be legimate however when you get something that says you must appear before a judge you get nervous. Should I just ignore it? Thanks again for the response.

Again, it could be many things, contact the actual court and see what is going on
