Do these fittings make a distinctive "snap" or other obvious indication that they have seated properly?

Hi Tad...
Regular copper fittings will bottom out onto copper tubing without any distinct noise... all is gauged on depth of the fitting.
Here, for example, when I clean a 1/2" tubing end with sandcloth I will clean it to a 1" length on the tubing end and then I will flux the bottom 3/4" and then push my tubing into the 1/2" fitting until it bottoms out. When I am finished I will see 1/4" of flux and a 1/2" of cleaned tubing above the fitting and this way I know I have my properly fitted the 1/2 tubing to fitting... ;)
Obviously, you can apply this to larger copper tubing in the same way.
More questions, just let us know, OK?

I should have pointed out that I was referring to the gator fittings that require no soldering.
