Am I required to file an Individual Tax return if my mother already claimed me as a dependent? I'm tried searching on Google, but the only thing I can find is whether I still CAN file. I'm not concerned with whether I can, but whether I am REQUIRED to file. I am filling out other forms that pertain to this and in my case I would rather not have to file, since I already haven't, because of time urgency. Someone please help me!

Even if you are a minor or dependent or dependent student, you must file your tax return (Form 1040EZ or 1040A or 1040) if your income exceeds the filing requirements. On your income you will pay all the taxes just like an adult. Also even if you are not required to file and have a refund, you should file to get the refund.
If someone can claim you dependent, then you can not claim your own exemption. Your U.S. Tax Return: 2010 Filing Requirements for a Dependent (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2011/01/2010-filing-requirements-for-dependent.html)
