This is my fist time on this site, so here goes nothing. I blew out my front brake line, one of the lines just under the M/C. My question is 1) what size is the nut on the front side of the 3 way spliter? 2) should I change both lines going to both wheel cylinders? And finally,3) Is there a place to buy pre-bent lines, or do I need to do it mayself? Thanks for any help anyone might be able to give... Oh yeah, I live in the North East Ohio area. My Dakota is a 98 2 wheel drive 3.9, 6 cylinder.

1. Try a 10 mm flare nut wrench. Only use flare nut wrenches on brake lines, otherwise you will distort them.
2. I'd replace only the ruptured line, unless there's corrosion or some other reason.
3. Most auto parts stores carry stock brake line pipe, which you can bend yourself with a small pipe bender. Look into how to make double-flare connections. It's fun and you'll enjoy making them. Afterwards, bleed the whole system, using fresh brake fluid. Good luck.

Wow, thanks a lot TxGreaseMonkey. I was really surprised to have gotten an answer so quickly. All of your tips sound helpful. I have the truck up on jack stands, but I didn't get past the head scratching stage. Tomorrow I will tear into it. I will let everyone know how things went. Thanks again
