I came to USA on J1 visa on December 10 2010 on j1 visa. Wife&kid in India nevever visited me. I neeed file a tax return for 2010 to claim taxrefund.I will return to India by december2011 so I am claiming refund.Iam filling form 1040nrez. What should be my filing status . Should I write married filing jointly or separately or single.

You are a non-resident alien and you need to file a 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.
Your filing status would be married filing separately.
