In Italy the Communist party renamed themselves the Democrat party of the left a couple years back. I think the Socialist party still calls themselves socialists there. Both are very strong in certain regions even if they aren't the majority nationally.

Almost like a circus if you have ever been to a polling place over there. There are typically like 16 different political parties with their poster and candidates at the door to each room where you vote.
