If he worships idols, then please don`t go there. Tell him it`s against your belief in God that he feeds you with food that he has served his statues with. Allaah doesn`t need food from us, and Allaah is high above all that they associate with Him, and He is not a statue or a lowly being that eats and drinks and urinates and defecates, nor is he born... Why should you call such a person your friend, when Allaah has said that in Ibraahiim -as- is for us a good example when he said to his people: "There has begun between us enmity and hatred untill you renounce the worship of anything but Allaah Alone"!

I don`t have a fatwa, use your own judgement. It`s not allowed that you eat from it if he sacrifices it to statues, so forbid him, and then maybe you should go and call him to Islam. But you cannot consider his vegetarian food halaal if he has prepared it according to hindu traditions, which means he sacrifices it to his aalihah. Surely Allaah has made Haraam the meat of those sacrificed to other than Him, so would you suppose vegetables sacrifices to other than Him would be halaal just because they`re not meat? Laa ilaaha illa Allaah.
