Hi

I went to US last year for 10 months for my internship on a H3 visa. I want to know which all forms do I need to fill for tax refund. I searched on internet and have got that form 1040NR-EZ is for federal taxes. My exact questions are:

1. Which all forms do I need to fill(both for federal and state taxes)?
2. Can I fill my return online?

Thanks

What were the exact dates of your tour in the U.S.?

Are you married?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
1. I am not married
2. I was there in US from 4th April 2010 to 11th June 2010. I am sorry, there was a typing mistake in my question, I was there for 2 months. I was interning in New York and staying in New Jersey, but they have deducted New York state income tax.

For the federal return, you need to file Form 1040NR with Form 2106 to claim your daily living expenses.

For NY, you will file Form IT-203 as a non-resident of New York.

A New Jersey return is probably NOT needed.
