Hi,
I am Indian citizen. I started working from July 2010 on OPT, my SSN and medi was not deducted.
Where can I calculate how much return I will get or if someone can help me in calculating it will be great. I also have some questions

1) my income was around 32k and Fed tax: 5400 how much return can I get.

2) Is it OK to use cintax for tax preparation?

3) I have heard that filling through H&R block gives more return than Cintax.

4) Can I use itemized deduction for tution fees paid in 2010, vehicle licence fee and other expenses? Or should I use standard deduction of 5700.

5) Is there any more benefits other than standard deduction from the treaty between US and India.

Thanks in advance

On F1/OPT you are exempt from residency for 5-years. You must file non-resident tax return Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ and Form 8843. Your income is not subject to FICA taxes but you must pay federal and state income taxes. On your income you will get deduction based on tax treaty between the U.S. and your country. Since you are from India, as per tax treaty, you will claim standard deduction of $5,700 instead of itemized deduction.
If you go to H&R Block, make sure that H&R block does not file resident tax return.

IS it true that Cintax tax preparation software give less return than H&R block.

It will make no difference which service you use (CINTAX or H&R Block) provided the correct return is filed.
