I have a friend who lives in another country, He seem to call me when he wants, voice chat is now out of question until he has time, this is because he has a girlfriend now. Should I refrain from asking him to go on skype, email more or chat?

He knows I have asked him in the past but now his life is occupied with a girl and he said he can only email until he gets time to talk on skype. Before this girlfriend it was not the same, he was constantly on skype and texting my phone, video chatting.

The sudden change in the pattern of behavior has left me feeling why bother now, long distance friendships suck anyway and to sound needy is worse.

An example of when he wants to connect was like today, when he just rented a new home and called me on phone long distance and spoke to me for 3 minutes. Or sometimes he sends goofy pictures of himself for me to smile about.

Any suggestion would be appreciate. I think I should treat this like a long distance friendship and find local friends and not get so caught-up in his thoughtfulness.

That sounds like a great plan, and with a life without him so much, you will be less available.

Yes,it's time t make more friends in the area where you live.

I think it's time to let this LDFR go.

He has a girlfriend now, and its not you.

You might think about being kept a secret, which surely isn't the sign of a friendship if you have to be hidden.

Let him go, don't allow yourself to be used as 'the other woman'.
