I got my cartilage pierced 4 days ago, and since then have had a lot of pain. My ear is red and swollen as well. There is no puss or anything, it just hurts a lot even without touching it. When I do touch it though, the pain is unbearable. I have used antibacterial ointment and also the cleaner they provided me. I don't know if it is infected, but I am worried that it is. Help!

Dab salt water on it with cotton wool and/or antiseptic cream. Your body will automatically try and reject a piercing but persistence should pay off. Check the quality of the jewelry too.

I got mine done nearly a week ago and have had no problems whatsoever.Keep on cleaning and if problems still persist then go back to the place that pierced it and ask there opinion. Make sure you're not fiddling/ twisting it as that can make them sore.
