Hi! I'm 13 and kind of chubby. I know I'm at "that age" where my body changes, but I really want my stomach and thighs to be toned for the summer. I need to lose weight fast. I know that's impossible unless I starve myself, which I would never do. Could someone please give me some exercises that could help me lose weight. I went to the doctor recently and she said if I lost about 7 pounds I would probably at the perfect weight and have the body of my dreams. I am definitely willing to try anything that works. Thanks in advance!

Seven pounds is not a lot, so you don't have to do anything major.

Cut out all the soda and drink water instead. If you drink a soda a day, that one change could result in losing a pound a week. Also, cut out the junky fast food. You can still go with your friends and have a burger, but either skip the fries or have the smallest size available, and don't have a dessert after. Better still, go for the grilled chicken salad.

Cut out things like donuts and cookies, eat more fruit and vegetables.

Walk as much as possible, or cycle to school if you can. Join a club or class you enjoy, like dancing or tennis or whatever.

Drink lots of water mate, wwhen you have a sanwhich etc instead of having crips with it have fruit etc or if you pick at food all through the day just change it to fruit, also try walking more or doing sit ups I would recommend weights at your age because it can stunt your growth so just eat more healthier and do more exercise then you will me fine .

No, doing weights does not stunt your growth. Where did you get the idea that it did? There is good evidence that lifting weights before and during puberty helps build such dense bones that osteoporosis never becomes an issue.

Eating healthy, exercising, cutting out the sweets and the junk food. That's all anyone can do.

Lifting weights won't stunt your growth, so if that's something you wish to do, go ahead, just don't overdo it. Start with smaller weights and then work your way up.

Do you have a dog? Does anyone in your neighborhood have a dog that needs to be walked? The most weight I've ever lost was walking my dogs. If you don't have one, see if your neighbors would like you to walk their dog. It's great exercise, it's fun, and it's a great way to make some extra money. :)

All in all, it will take time, but, if you stick to a healthy diet, and get out and do things, you'll lose that 7 pounds in a healthy way.

Good luck.

You don't need to starve yourself or diet, all you have to do is eat healthy! Its hard to change habits but you can do it :) exercise is great, you don't need to kill yourself with it, just cycling, swimming, walking.. anything you enjoy. Oh skipping rope is a great means of exercise! And to motivate yourself you can always start a thread on this website and let us all know how your doing :) and ask any questions or share any worries with us. And well done looking for a healthy option to lose weight! Good luck ;)
