Hi, my name is signed up to the phone contract but it was taken out for my friend who also came to vodaphone with me, and kept the phone.

For the first 2 payments he gave me to money required to pay the bill, and then told me to cancle my direct debit because he would pay it over the phone, now months later I ffind out the contract has been seized due to him not paying the bill and going over it, the bill is 1000 pounds, I am currently un employed on benefits, is their anything I can do? They have given me one more chance to pay the outstanding balance before taking further action, vodaphone has passed the debt on to the debt collecters, what next? Can I take my ex-friend to court for such things.. due to him having possesstion of phone?. or maybe class this as theft? /.. thank you..

Sorry, no, a bad choice of friends and a very poor business choice.

You owe them the money, and it is not theft, since you gave it to them to use. IT is a civil issue and you may sue them for the money they were to pay.
