What is the biggest or fastest engine in can put in a 94 grand marquis 4.6 v8

I c a 4.9l(302) and a 5.8l(351) and a boss 351w but I think the boss 351w is for mustangs

You do realize under federal law you are limited to engines the same age or newer than the car its going into... and all emissions equipment have to remain intact. In California its even tighter.

You can put anything you have the money to put in it to make it work. For off road use. But getting it registered is another thing all together. And if you had the means... why would you pick that car to do it to. It big.. heavy, and is never going to handle well.

A 351 Windsor is NEVER going to be legal in it.

Cool... there have been lots of people that jumped into something without reseaching it first, spent a LOT of money and had to junk the vehicle because it couldn't be driven or registered. And it didn't even met the class regulations for racing.

If its all hypothetical... you CAN stuff a stroked custom block engine will over 500 cubic inch displacement (and there are several). Like I said, what you CAN do is limited by how much you can spend. If you would want to is something else

I do want to know a gears and transmission because I'm thinking about putting 24inch chrome rims on n some pple say get a bigger transmission n the other say just change the gears in The rear end to 373s,what is your take

Man you don't even want to hear my opinions on wheels like that.

but here goes. #1 they look stupid. #2 they won't fit in the wheel wells at all, not even most full size trucks, I've seen 20" rims on a Chevy Caprice, and it made me want to track the guy down and whoop him with the stupid stick. But different strokes for different folks. When you are mulling over ideas, you can think of a number of possibilities... ideas and thoughts are cheap... its when you build them it gets expensive.

There are a number of gear calculations on the web, you need things like the rolling diameter of the tires, etc. at any given speed, rpm, and tire size it can calculate the remaining variable the gears. Or any one of those items. Just Google gear calculators. Most auto calculate realtime when you put in the numbers.

Yeah transmissions need beefing up... but axles and spindles are going to snap too... then you have the unsprung mass to deal with and brakes need beefing up A LOT and its going to ride and handle like a grocery cart.

Just pointing out there are always unintended consequences when you vary far from an original design. The further you go... the more work needs done, and the more other items will need upgraded as well because one thing pushes another beyond its design limits.

I've built enough things over the years... I can't simply think of doing one thing without also thinking about how I would have to do it, what its going to affect, and how to I fix the other problems it creates.

Not trying to discourage creativity... or dreams. Just trying to ground them with some reality and other thoughts you are going to need before you actually try to simply modify or even build your first car. The more you know, the less mistakes you will make. And the less money you will waste. There are many ways do do something wrong... far fewer to do them right. And the right way isn't always obvious.
