I have an AO Smith 123/230 volt reversible motor for an boat lift. A black and a red wire extend from inside the motor and connect to a orange and red wire from the up and down switch which puts 120 volts on either wire depending on up or down position.. I purchased a motor. Well the motor is reversible but you have to switch the red and black wires which are landed on bayonet stakons inside the motor. How would I make this work

I replaced my boat lift motor AO Smith 120/230 volt reversible. Motor had a red and black wire wxtending from inside the motor to which the up and down ( two wires ) were attached to each. Putting 120 volts on either depending on the position. The new motor is different, to ereverse the new motor you must reverse the red and black wires which are landed on payonet stakons. How do I wire the new motor.
