Ge dryer run then the motor stops but heat element stays on its though the motor over heats and shuts of,if you open the door for a few minutes and start it back up it will finish drying

If the heat is still on after the motor quits running, you probably have a broken heater which is shorting to ground, giving it a continual 120V. You will have to disassemble the dryer to confirm unless you have a volt/ohm meter and know how to use it. In that case you will just have to lift the top up.
