My house was built in 2005 , and recently I've discovered cracks appearing around the entire exterior walls and some interior walls as well . I hear odd popping noises that mostly come from the ceiling. Does anybody know if this is normal or not ?

The weather has been pretty sevier lately and even though your house should have settled by now in truth they always move some due to ground swelling and wind. But if it appears to be sinking or otherwise going off kilter then you need to have an inspection done to see how best to remedy your situation. If the home was constructed outside of code and poorly done it may even involve a legal battle. How large of an opening are the widest parts of the cracks?

The cracks are about 1/16 in. with the widest areas being about 1/8 in.
If I was to have someone come inspect the house, what kind of people do you think I should contact ?
Thank you very much for your help

There are inspectors in most areas. Ut when the report comes in they usually deffer to other experts when there is a question of foundations. Like a structural engineer. But if you look around you can get a good idea. But it will require crawling under the house if there is room for it to inspect the foundation.

Also you might ask a realtor in your area if they know someone that does inspections and what they thing the cost may be as you don't need an actual official inspection. You just want to find out what's going on.

There's no room under my house so I can't check the foundation myself. I had someone from adams homes (company that built my house) come check it out & they said everything was normal . I'm a little skeptical about that because they may be saying that just so they don't have to fix anything.
Also do you know what kind of effects would appear if my house was on a sinkhole ?

In a sinkhole your house disappears. Its not unusual for homes to settle and cause cracks. The ones your stating wouldn't cause me to worry unless they widen. It may be best to talk to a realtor and see if they know someone (independent) that can come take a look for you. What your really looking for is an inspection but verbal unless you want it official and in writing (expensive). Shouldn't be a problem to find someone that can do it and most could give general ideas as to how much repairs could cost for your area.
