Ok here is the story,

Im a shy person when it comes to school. I talk to my friends but I keep a lot to myself because that's just me. But last Tuesday I was sitting in class and I thought teacher was going to call on me about a question I didn't know. He was about to call on me but another student said the answer out loud. As that happened I got real nervous in my stomach that I gues the nervousness flew up to my heart/chest and it kind of hurts. Now my heart beats fast and sometimes I guess when I think about it it feels like my heart is compacting and it hurts sometimes and feels weird if I breath. I told my mom and she told me that it happeneds to her all the time and I'm thinking about it too much. I guess if I'm thinking about it too much it's going to feel weird and hurt?

What do you think? Please I'm really scared if I have anything serious!! This has been happening for 4 days now!!

It sounds like an anxiety or panic attack. Does your mom take meds for it?

Please see your doctor to get a professional diagnosis (I could be wrong, since I'm not a doctor) and advice as to what you can do about it.

There are things you can do meanwhile to prevent or lessen the anxiety. Do you know what they are?

Become like a cat -- live in the Now. Don't worry about the Future or regret the Past. Just be in the Now.

The same thing happens to me, I'm very shy as well, and have a fear of talking in the classroom even though I never am shy in front of friends, but every time the professor calls on me ,my heart drops and it feels like I'm about to have a heart attach, but I just remember its not the end of the world and everyone gets nervous sometime, techniques that I try to help me with my nervousness and shyness is to develop an antidote. My antidote is chewing gum I know it may sound silly, but whenever I have a piece of gum in my mouth I am never shy or nervous and I feel mostly confident :)
