During my whole life there has been this black Human like figure at my house. We moved 3 times and each time it follows my brother. I didn't believe him but I saw it too and my dog smelled it in my room the following morning. I now worry becase it now goes to my sister like "Turn around". It has been near my brother since he was small. I saw it, my friend saw it "Eric" "Jackilin" saw it, my cousin saw it as well. WHAT IS IT AND HOW DO I GET IT TO LEAVE US ALONE ONCE AND FOR ALL. We even pray before we go to bed he even has a bible next to his bed. We are a christan family. I even share a room with him. HELLP US WAT IS IT AND HOW DO WE MAKE IT LEAVE ONCE AND FOR ALL?!

I would suggest that since you are Christian that you have your house and it's occupants blessed by your minister , preacher, or priest.

You are most certainly not alone in your encounter with "a dark figure" and many times a blessing has worked to stop the problem or has been part of the means to an end.

Try this and keep us updated please.

Since you claim it's a Christian home, I can give you some Christian advice. I would advise against having you and your household "blessed". Unless it's a very very weak demon... either NOTHING will happen or it will get agitated. In regards to spiritual warfare, there is nothing in scripture about blessing things. Whenever Jesus dealt with a spirit it was with a COMMAND, it was forceful and authoritative. The church is His representation on the earth now and He is our example. Christ, by the work of the cross, gave His church authority over these things. This thing needs to be removed in that same way it would be removed from a person. Unless you are an exceptionally strong spiritual family and can stand against this thing, I suggest you find a pastor that knows how to administer deliverance. If it seems to be following your brother more specifically I also suggest that the pastor pray specifically around him too.

Having a bible lay next to the bed and praying goodnight prayers is not going to scare it off. Demons can quote scripture. There are religious demons. They only fear the bible when someone who knows who they are in Jesus Christ exercises It's authority.

How old are you? What do your parents have to say about this situation? I don't know what denomination you are, but my advice is to find a spiritually strong pastor to come and do some counseling and heavy prayer. Feel free to ask more questions if you need to.

You jump to conclusions way too fast hh. What makes you think this is a demon?
There are a multitude of possibilities.
And if it is, there are more subtle ways to inform people of the possibilities.

Slow down.

A demon as opposed to... what? It's only the internet... we can only go off the information given to us. SURE it could be nothing... but unfortunately we have to go with what we're given. My answer was in ASSUMING this is how the situation is accurately described.
It COULD be any number of things, you are correct. But it really boils down to either something spiritual is happening or it's not. I think right now, from the information that was given... something of the paranormal is happening.
This is where my Christian advice comes in... because the bible does not teach that human spirits "hang around" after passing. IF, there is something going on, biblically speaking, I can very safely say it is a demon.

I have had the same thing happen all my life to... it paces back and forth in my old room after I move from my moms and still does every now and then after I been gone years but it follows me everywhere I have lived a few people seen it one night it was followed by a blue light the first time someone else seen it I didn't even see it that time since I was sleeping but the blue light kind of stopped close to the ceiling directly over my neck and I started to choke while only my neck lifted off the bed and make unhuman like noises for a few seconds then it disappeared over the lake... not sure what it was but things still follow me

I can tell you what it was. Guys, the spiritual world doesn't have to be such a mystery. It is plainly laid out for us in God's Word. There is HELP and healing from this type of thing.

And even if I agree,. it is still only your opinion and maybe many others, but is still an opinion based on your knowledge of the subject.
Opinions are not facts, you cannot tell anyone what it is as if it were fact.

Yes, it is my opinion... but I also know it for a fact ;) You see, I'm not afraid of political correctness.

You're not afraid of ignorant wrongness either it appears.

You are informed of the biblical teachings on the subject it is obvious.
Have you been out "in the field" and got your hands dirty yet?

Like so many college graduates find out when they put the education to work... it isn't like the book said it would be,. it always works on paper and the theory is proven and tested,, but the results of the implementation do not work out in the real world all the time, or even most of the time, but occasionally it will if you make allowances for the unique conditions of every instance.

This can be more than most people can imagine both physically and mentally.
Rarely I will admit , but it only takes one .

Open up your mind. God will think more of you for it.
Following instructions is good , but does not always hold the answer.
You have to find it on your own at times.
And I think we were meant to do some of that.

I wish you well.

I'll be watching for your update and am genuinely interested and anxious to find out what's going on with your situation.

It is much easier to put your posts in the "answer question" box instead of the "comments".
You can put in all the information you want to that way instead of being limited on input. Thanks

Ignorant wrongness? Don't assume I'm wrong. Don't assume the amount of experience I have either... and quite frankly I'm tired of these attacks posted inside of somebody's question. Let's have a debate, fine with me... but let's do it in a new forum that is set aside for debating this particular subject. If you think God will think more of me for opening my mine BEYOND what is taught in the Bible, then, sir you have completely missed who God is.

I experienced this exact thing in my home when I was younger, we contacted various organizations and religions for help but the only one that fixed it was a catholic priest. Just saying, it was really bad in my house and he took care of it. We did have two sesions though. Wish you the best.

I have the same problem. When I was 3, something possessed me for about 10 minutes and was speaking for me in my own voice but I couldn't control what I was saying. When I was 4, I woke up in the middle of the night and he was standing across the room, staring right at me. I prayed but he didn't go anywhere. Now I am 16. I know there are two more demons in my house, and they constantly invade my dreams, turn lights in my house on and off, terrified my dog into never going into our laundry room in our basement, thrown things across the room, and even spoken to me in person. Honestly, I was scared when I was little. Now I'm pissed. But remember, demons feed off negative energy. They love it. Don't swear at them, or curse them. Use the Bible againts them. They might be strong, but trust me that God is way stronger.

Sounds like you have a very good start there Nicolette... but has your trust in God fixed the problem or just relieved it? We can comment more specifically on your issue if you don't mind starting your own thread in the paranormal forum. It keeps things in context when aren't talking to more than one person (even though this thread is rather old).

It sounds to me that what you are probably dealing with is the common 'shadow person' It's said that they are a negative entity that feeds off negativity in the home. Has anyone in your house hold been having a great deal of stress or anxiety that you know of?

First of all, to the people answering here... don't write publicly if you have no concept of punctuation. A paragraph-long sentence is maddening to read.

I consider myself a Christian person and have spent most of my life very skeptical of "ghostly" encounters. Needless to say I've never had one. I used to believe (like hh) that once you die your soul either went to heaven or hell. And if a person encounters an entity it must be demonic. But being of reasonable intelligence and open minded to the fact that there are things of the spiritual world we aren't meant to completely understand... I do believe people see things. And they aren't necessarily from hell.

It is widely believed that when we die we see "a light" and we are meant to go toward it. Toward God. Nowhere is it written that a soul must go to the light. It stands to reason that some do and some don't. There could be many reasons not to... fear of judgement, fear of leaving loved ones behind, a desire for revenge, etc. I think it's very narrow minded to classify every unexplained phenomenon as demonic.

However. If I were to encounter a shadowy figure in my home, in the dark, at night... I would certainly be frightened and want to know what I could do to make it go away. I would try a pastor first since Christianity is a major part of my life. If that didn't help I would seek out a medium to come perform a cleansing. From what I hear they burn sage all around the house and somehow use salt to create a barrier around the outside. I hope this helps.
