The pull-out knob on the faucet has broken off. I cannot use the shower head as you cannot switch from faucet (for bathtub) to overhead shower. How is it repaired/replaced as the knob is a part of the faucet itself.

Hi James...
A name brand on ths would help to narrow this down, but for now, try to remove the handle and trim plate and take a pair of pliers and see if you can loosen the nut holding the diverter knob into the valve body (no need to shut off water supply... most of the time).
If it pops out take it to a local plumbing supply store and get an exact replacement.
Otherwise, if this fails, I'll need a name brand or a picture to tell you more, OK?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The knob is just a pull up knob tried to pull it up to change from bathtub to shower and it came off. It looks like the attached picture

Odd picture there... not seen a valve like this.
Only thing I can recommend is taking the picture over to a local plumbing supply house and see if they can help you.
Good luck!
