Hi I was just wondering, I'm writing a story/ Book and I want to know if giving a child a first names and then three middle names would scare the child for life? I know It's a book/Story but if I were to give 3 middle names to an child (Not in a book/Story)would giving a child/baby 3 middle names be a BAD idea?

Thanks

I think it comes across as pretentious... and many other would think that as well. What's wrong with one? Many people don't even have a middle name. My wife doesn't.

Friend of mine was told she would never have children, low and behold she had a son ( total fluke) so, not to leave any grandparent out they gave the child FOUR middle names after each grandparent... 7 years later she had another son!

If there's a story behind it I don't see why not, its not the child's fault.

In this day and age you could call your child princess Gaga and no one would bat an eyelid, why not 3,4 or 5 middle names!

The child won't be called, mary bridget anna marie burke in school everyday, it will just be mary.

It could make a lot of things more complicated. On forms there are usually only room for 1 middle name which could confuse or complicate certain matters.

I've known several people with 2 middle names, usually to accommodate grandparents names.

But---it makes a story interesting at times. The Wizard of Oz's real name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs
