How long have you known her? Have you met her in person?
Have you sent her any money?

Don't do it.
There are far too many scams that have the sole purpose of citizenship. With the new tightening of immigration to Canada, there will be even more scams for people to jump to the front of the line by marrying solely for immigration purposes.
If you met her through an online dating site, if there has been money exchanged, if you have never met her, or her family, if you know nothing about her other than through any electronic means- don't do it.
It's not only for immigration purposes, many times it's solely a money scam, bilking lonely people out of thousands of dollars.

Don't send money. First thing you must do is go to Ghana and meet her in person, then get married according to local family law. Then return to Canada, while she waits in Ghana... you file for spouse visa for her. It takes approx 6-8 months. Good luck..

But I also agree, you have goggled ghana dating scam ??
During the past years, many people contacted me and asked this same question. When I told them it's dating scam... nobody listened.
So my advice is go there and "meet her in person"... in most cases, when "she" learned that the guy will be coming to see her in person, she disappeared immediately... can't contact via email or phone.

Have you met her in person?
I strongly suggest you travel to Ghana to meet her parents and family. If they don't know you or you haven't gotten their approval, you cannot marry her. You will be required to follow certain traditions in how you ask for her hand in marriage, the bride price must be paid to the parents, and other cultural requirements must be met. After getting a marriage license, you will have 20 days in which to get married.

I have merged all your threads. Please do not start a new thread over the same issue. If you have a follow-up question or info, please use the Answer options to post.
Please understand that there have been many, many people scammed by women from Ghana allegedly wanting to marry. Legally, if she can get a visa to enter your country, then you could marry her there. But the reality is that she will ask for money to get a visa and travel to meet you and the odds are you will never see that money again. That's why the advice to go to her. At least you get a vacation out of it.

OK, lets face the facts of life, she is not coming to Canada, she may not even exist. Most likely it is a fat 60 year old grandmother using her granddaughters ID or a 30 year old man using ideas they stole on line or created on the computer.
1. the visa and passport is only about 300 dollars, if they ask for 1000's they are a fraud.
2. no they don't have to have 1000's in the bank to leave the country.
3. no they don't have to do a physcial to leave the country.
4. Immigration is very strict she is not gong to come on a visit visa and be able to stay, even if she "came" she would have to go back and apply for the correct visas.
So it is much better for you to travel there and get married, since she will not be at the airport anyway when you get there, at least in real life you may actually find someone when you visit
