Hello All,

I have been searching the net for almost 2 days looking for background items & props for a photo shoot. I need a few fake over-sized gigantic flowers, mushrooms, 1 large fake tree trunk & grass. I don't expect everything to come from one place but a collection of stores will be fine with me. I found one place that has a large toadstool table (looks very realistic) but that's about all I've been able to find so far. Everything else, I've only found "pictures" of what I need, like on flickr & istockphoto. I will even take suggestions for "search terms" because I feel like if I new exactly what the names of these types of props were maybe I'd have better luck. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If it's just for one photoshoot, you should contact local theaters and ask if they wouldn't mind you borrowing their props. That would be the old fashioned play-house-type theaters :)

I used to be an actress (kind of would like to start again) and the props closet at a theater is truly a magical place with items you won't find anywhere else!

Theatrical supply houses as well as maybe check your local high school theater departments. Im sure they would be happy to help and maybe you could swap some work for the usage of the props.

Try looking at an art supply store named michaels
I went in there once and saw a lot of fake plants and gigantic fake trees and other stuff.
They also have a bunch of other stuff you can use for props,

One company to check out is Arti-Flora out of Thailand. An importer of giant mushrooms, insects and flowers is Superior Studio Specialties- although they tend to be kind of pricey. Good luck!
