Can't remember what the plot was but I remember a scene where the female lead was being proposed to in a garden - she refused. He wasn't the main character but I remember he had seemed a bit dull and stern throughout the film but turned out to be good in the end. Sorry - can't remember much more - don't even remember if it was a film or a TV series but it has been really bugging me.
