My grandparents are now deceased but they left two houses on the same lot. I live in the back house that was once a garage and was converted to a two bedroom apartment. My uncle moved into the front house. I used to live in the front house when my grandparents were alive and then moved into the back home about 16 years ago. I have always used the front house's address. My uncle does not get along with my mother because my grandparents left her in charge of the property and made her executor of the property. He does not pay rent or taxes on the house. I pay the taxes every year. The other day my uncle told me that I need to change my address. I asked why? He said because you do not live at this address. My question is what do I do? I have always used this address since 18 years ago and there has never been a problem.

Well do it this way seeing as two domiciles on same property, one behind the other. Make your domicile unit B and the front one A and mark them that way. You won't be allowed to put a new number on your property because it is one lot.

Put up two mailboxes one A and on B. That should solve his problem.

I agree with tickle.
Would you care to say why you are paying taxes and your uncle isn't paying at least half? And if your mother still is in charge, that means that the property is in a trust?
