The age of consent in Oregon is 18, regardless of heterosexual or homosexual acts. Source (http://blog.laborlawtalk.com/2006/11/09/oregon-age-of-consent-laws/)

However, at the age of 16, sexual intercourse is not illegal if the other party was less than 3 years older. Source (http://www.cga.ct.gov/2003/olrdata/jud/rpt/2003-r-0376.htm)

I'm not saying you are going to have sexual relations with her, but those are the laws regarding that. Dating can be as innocent as a close friendship (which is allowed, I would think) or as serious as sexual contact, where the above laws would apply.

Hope this helps.

It's not illegal to date. You can date whoever you want as long as the parents of the minor agree. It's when sex is involved that the question of legality comes into play.

If you're not having sex, and don't plan to have sex, then you can date, as long as her parents are okay with it.
