38 degrees outside, and I wake up with 1 skinny bee (wasp or honey), on the inside of the screen window. Where did it come from? Same 2 plants in room since Autumn, both have had soil dry more than once. Window on the other side of the screen is closed. Bedroom door closed at night. Bee wasn't there when I went to bed. Getting kind of apprehensive about going to sleep in safety, then waking up with another bee (or more than one).

It woke up from wherever it was hybernating and flew to the window. Might have been in plant soil, might have been in curtains/drapes, anything else.

They also squeeze under doors.

Some years ago I was at a local home/garden show which suddenly was alive with something called ground wasps. It was in late winter, the wasps apparently were hybernating in the topsoil that was brought into the venue, they woke up - and they were NOT happy.

Made the local newspapers.
