If you are feeling bad about doing the wrong thing... It shows you have a grasp of right and wrong as well as what you should and shouldn't do...

I worry about people that do anything that pops into their head without ever a second thought or remorse.

Most of the time I do the right thing but every once in a while I need to do what I want, even with the reprocussions maybe I makes me feel alive or just plain stupid... thanks.

It makes you like most of the rest of us... You can rest assured of that.

I don't know a single person who hasn't done the wrong thing at some point knowing it wasn't the right thing at that moment.

Accepting full responsibility for any and all repercussions are part of that... and of being responsible and an adult.

Everyone has impulses... but you need to learn to control them. That's one of the things that differentiates maturity from immaturity.

I didn't say adults from children because too many adults never learn that important lesson.

Since this is in the addictions forum, I have to wonder what the addiction is. Can you enlighten us please?

And a good point J_9 makes... Impulse control is one fascet of an addiction (the mental component vis the physical part)... and an important one to get under control to get the addiction under control.

Most people have impusles however most people don't have addictions. But you don't have an addiction absent inpulse control issues.
