I have a very cold first floor. My furnace is in the laundry room on the second floor of my home. It has a cold air register to the right side of it and there is another one downstairs in the first room of my house. My upstairs is very warm and we have tried to close all registers upstairs but that does not help. Please help me with this problem.

Heat rises naturally that's why you have this problem.
You first need to check that the vent downstairs is blowing enough air.
Then check to make sure that everything is weatherstriped tight.Check all the doors and windows.
Every time you have 2 story homes you need to add a zoning system. However, if you do not have enough vents in the first floor then you will not be able to install a zoning system. The unit will overheat. If that is the case then I recommend getting a separate heating system for downstairs. Oh, I recommend not closing too many of the upstairs vents because the unit will overheat and turn off. This can also wear out the blower motor prematurely.
