Where do you live, this varies from state to state and court to court.

In Georgia, Habersham to be exact, but I just need a general estimate.

Normally court fees are part of the fine, so normally the fine is no larger if you go to court and fight it. Unless you ask for a trial with a jury or something. If you merely appear at traffic court and plead your case to the judge, at least in the GA courts I have been at, there is no difference
