I recently purchased a minka aire ceiling fan which has the fan control switch and receiver. I wired the room awhile ago and used a 3-way wire to the fan so I could have a switch for the light and a switch for the fan. What I want to do is "hide" the minka aire controls somewhere (we have an old home and use push button switches), have one switch for the light, one for the fan, and control the speed of the fan with a remote. Is this setup possible? I just don't know how to proceed. Thanks.

Probably not since the remote system uses only 1 power lead, not 2. You might be able to find the light lead on the remote and disconnect but not sure if that will work. You can't just seal the Minka box in the wall, that's against code.

How about this remote, then a blank at the switch location?

I wasn't planning on sealing the minka switch in the wall, it would have been mounted behind the wall in the built-in bookcase, exposed but not in plain sight.

What do you mean by a blank? I would mainly use the remote to change the fan speed but wanted to be able to power the fan on and off and the light on and off with separate switches. I just ordered the remote off Amazon.

Actually a couple of weeks ago, I had a customer have a built in receiver go bad, The light part of it. Replacement was impossible, and they didn't want to buy a new fan. House was originally wired for separate light and fan.
I left the Fan on the remote, and through 1 switch, and I used the extra switched leg for control of the light only.
Sounds like it could work for you.
Here is a blank plate, they are made of several materials:
