I have a 10 month old shepherd /hound mix who won't eat his own food . We have tried different types and he still won't eat .When we got him he wasn't one of those puppies that ate everything [he was 3 months old. He got a taste of the cat food and that is all he wants. Is there any food out their for dogs that come close to the taste of cat food, Were going nuts because he won't eat his food and then begs for ours. If I put the cat food down then he will devour theirs . I don't know what to do.

Dog chow is carefully formulated to give dogs the complete and balanced diet they need, and cat chow meets the somewhat different needs for them. Your dog really needs to be eating a dog chow, and very little else. It will take a little discipline on your part, plus perhaps figuring out a place the cat can get to its food the dog can't. Rather than explain what you need to do to get the dog to eat its own chow, you will be the first person I refer to the new sticky on dogs that won't eat,

You should be able to have it eating what it should before too long. How soon, could depend if it is over weight or its eating is typical of a hound or a Shepherd. Shepherds can be a little difficult sometimes. May as well stick to what you are feeding now.
