There is no specific age at which you can baby sit but tell us what state you live in. Minimum Age for Babysitting (http://www.babysittingtips.net/age_for_babysitting.html)

If you are looking to baby sit in your neighborhood I would suggest have taken a babysitting course and be at least 12 or 13 with some experience!!
HOPE THAT HELPS!!

It depends on where you live, the age of the children you'd be sitting for, the number of children you'd be sitting for, when you'd be sitting, etc. etc. etc.
A babysitting course which includes CPR and first aid training is pretty much a must nowadays.
When my kids were younger I wanted an older sitter to babysit, someone that I knew could handle an emergency. Now that my kids are older, well, my son, 12, can babysit his sister, 8, but if he's not willing I would completely trust an 11 year old to sit with my daughter.
