Hi, we want to put a toilet in our ensuite which is on a slab! Can anyone advise if this is possible 'above ground' on the slab? Cheers

Hi Ransam...

It is possible to install an entire bathroom above the slab floor IF you use a macerator pump such as the saniplus system.

Check it out at (click on link):

Saniflo macerating and gray water pumping systems (http://www.saniflo.com)

At a minimum, you will need the pump system, electricity, a waste pipe and a vent pipe and of course the fixtures/faucets/valves.

If you wanted to add a tub or shower this would need to be built up on a platform.

Questions? Let us know, OK?

My house has a wall mounted toilet (similar to ones you see in public restrooms, but with a tank), but the waste pipe goes into the slab. How high is your waste line?

Thanks very much mark. I will check out the site and be in touch again.Where do you know/recommend to get the saniflo system from in Australia(vic)? Have you put one in or know what the cost would be? Cheers sam

Hi Sam...

If you link up to the site I posted it should have plenty of information available on things over there in Australia.

I have installed plenty of these and each time the price differences were so extreme that I wouldn't dare throw any numbers at you, never mind that our pricing (USA) won't be the same as pricing in your area, so it just doesn't make sense.

Get some prices from local contractors... see what they say, OK?
