The pilot comes on but the fireplace does not it seems the gas valve is not releasing any gas. The main gas valve is open and I light the pilot using the robertshaw control 780-845. Any suggestions. It seems all the electricals are correct otherwise why would the pilot light up and the green light on the Robershaw is lit . Any tricks am I missing something

With this ignition control, the pilot gas and spark are turned on when power to the ignition control is turned on. Flame rectification is used to verify that the pilot is lit. When the pilot flame is detected, the spark shuts off and voltage to turn on the main burner gas is switched on.

So----

Does the spark to light the pilot continue to run? If so, the flame isn't being detected.

If the spark shuts off, check to see if you have 24 VAC being applied to turn on the main burner gas. If you do, be sure the gas valve is set to the "on" position to allow the main burner gas to turn on. If the power and gas is on, you probably have a burned out gas valve that will need to be replaced.

If you have no 24 VAC power to turn on the gas valve main burners, you have a bad ignition control that needs to be replaced.

When I turn on the electric it usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes for the fireplace to turn on, the fireplace pilot light seems to be working fine
