Does anyone out there gave reliable info on retiring in Panama? I am a US citizen looking to relocate . From what I have been able to find, Panama seems to be a good bet. Thanks!

Panama has one of the worlds best retirement benefits for people who receive their pensioners visa. There are discounts on most everything! To qualify for the visa you must show an income through an employer pension plan that you are receiving or some type of monthly government retirement such as social security. I think the minimum monthly amount is $1,000. You can get more information through International Living magazines (or their website) and they also offer manuals for specific countries that will tell you everything you need to know as well as reputable people to contact. There are discounts on medical, restaurants, hotels, airfares, electricity, etc... with the pensioners visa. Plus it's a beautiful country!
