Well, this is going to be kind of long but bare with me. So, this is probably going to sound like a bunch of high school drama but I need help before I end up doing something stupid. Anyway, I really like this guy, Finley, for awhile now, and we've been talking and thinking about dating but we haven't. Since we've been talking I met another guy, Zach. I didn't really tell Finley about Zach until now. Zach doesn't know about Finley either. I'm starting to like Zach and my parents approve of him and all, but he doesn't compare to Finley what so ever. Finley makes me feel like I am the most amazing girl I have ever met. The only thing is he is mixed, and my mom and step-dad, who I live with, are racist. I don't know if I should go for Finley or Zach. Also, if I go for Finley, how do I let down Zach. Zach is a little more than a crush, but I really like Finley. I'm only 16, but I have never felt like this for any other guy in my life and I actually think I may love him. But, I need an unbiased opinion on things to help me get through this. Anyone? Help? Thank you.

Date the guy you really like, take things easy, get to know each other, nothing to hot or heavy.

To date the other guy would not be fair to him, just because you kind of like him and he falls into your parents ideal.

While I understand your concerns about your parents, you still need to be upfront about your whereabouts and who your with.

Just be honest about what you do, and want to do. Don't ever lead someone on when you know you would rather be with some one else.

How do I let the other person know that I don't want to be with them without hurting their feelings?

The truth is the right way to approach this. Isn't that better than lying to them, and they think you care? Which do you think hurts more, lying, or being honest?
