I'm suppose to compute the regression line for a set of raw data. My teacher only gave me the mean education level = 12, the mean of happiness = 9, the standard deviation of education = 3, and the standard deviation happiness = 2.5. I'm so confused on what to do.

It's difficult to find a regression line for raw data when there is no raw data. Maybe there is something I am not understanding, though. This is ALL the teacher gave?

I got a formula in my stats book, but it requires \Sigma xy and without this, I can't get the gradient of the line... This is the only thing I think is required besides the information already given.

I, too, looked that formula up again and noticed the same quandary. Regressions are usually done with calculators and what not, so these formulas kind of get forgotten. Doing a regression by hand is like working a square root by hand these days. Anyway, Unknown, I concur.
