I have a son that is in his first year of college @ UGA and I need a way to help pay for his schooling. We make too much money for grants, and he is using the HOPE Scholarship for his tuition. We must pay for his room and board, meal cards, labs and books. What can we do? Are there any other programs or scholarships that can help us? Thanking you in advance!

If he googles scholarships, there's pretty much a scholarship for anything and everything you could think of, and even then some. The hard part is just sorting through everything to see what he might be eligible for or able to win. My school's financial aid office always advised students to apply for anything and everything they could-they said a lot of times students would win scholarships simply because they were the only one that took the time to apply.

Did you guys fill out the fafsa? A lot of times people assume they can't get anything at all so they don't fill it out. But that was another thing the school said a lot of people estimated wrong on so they always told everyone to fill it out no matter what they expected.
