I have a Hotpoint dryer, the cheap model, started squeaking so I opened it up and found the front glides worn through, and the front bearing worn through as well. Pulled the drum to inspect the rear bearing, and it was fine. Installed the new front drum bearing and the new glides and dryer is very quiet now. However, while drying some clothes the next day, I opened the dryer to check to see if they were dry, and they were super hot. I noticed that with the door open, of course the drum stopped, and the timer was still ticking, but you could see that the heating elements were still red hot. I took the clothes out, shut the door and did not restart it, but left the timer in the on position. I opened the door 5 minutes later and the elements were still red hot.
This puzzles me because I only didconnected 2 wires, those being the ones to the door switch and they were put back where they came from.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
