My son has custody of his 2 children age 3 and 12 months. The 12 month old is special needs and has physical and occupational therapy once a week as well as scheduled surgeries. The mother tried committing suicide 8 months ago, was in rehab twice. Second time there, she meets some guy and runs off with him leaving the children. The guy she ran off with was also in rehab, that's where she met him and he also has a heroin addiction proble. She also has two older children that reside with their grandmother. Now she wants custody and says she is going to fight for custody of my sons kids too. Does she stand a chance in getting them back? She doesn't call that often, maybe every 3 weeks or so, didn't call Christmas, didn't show up for her son's surgeries before she decided to move to another state.

If the father can PROVE that the mother is a danger to the children, emotionally OR physically, no, she won't get them back.

That does not mean she won't get visitation.

Support is a separate issue BUT is she paying support?
